About the Role
Our Unilever Industrial Placement (IP) Programme is a 12-month development scheme designed for students completing a year in industry as part of their degree studies. We recruit top-performing undergraduate talent with fresh ideas eager to gain exposure to real-world challenges. From day one, you will have real responsibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business, supported by one-to-one mentoring to aid your development and help you achieve your goals.
A placement in Sustainability places you at the heart of shaping Unilever's long-term business success and positive impact on people and the planet. You will gain first-hand experience of how sustainability is embedded into business strategy, decision-making, and growth. Working closely with colleagues across Sustainability, Communications, Corporate Affairs, and other functions such as Business Groups, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, Legal, and Finance, you will understand how sustainability integrates across a global business.
The placement offers a broad range of opportunities including supporting sustainability strategy and governance, advocacy and partnerships, performance tracking, reporting, and data-driven insights. You may contribute to priorities such as Climate, Nature, Plastics, Social Sustainability, Human Rights, and more. Your day-to-day activities could include gathering and analysing external insights, supporting strategy development, contributing to advocacy initiatives, assisting with reporting and disclosure, creating content for internal and external audiences, and supporting major global events like Climate Week, COP, the World Economic Forum, and the United Nations General Assembly.
This programme provides a variety of experiences to help you learn, grow, develop personally and professionally, build confidence, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the business while working in a flexible and hybrid environment.
