About the Role
Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust is seeking a Wild Trainee to join their Evidence and Connected Landscapes team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals aged 18-25 interested in pursuing a career in UK wildlife conservation. The role offers tailored internal and certified external training alongside practical experience in ecological monitoring and habitat mapping across nature reserves and project sites. You will agree a personal training plan and receive support from an experienced mentor to develop professional skills essential for a career in the conservation sector.

Throughout the 9-month fixed-term placement (with possible extension to 1 year), you will gain a broad range of experience by working with various teams including Land Management, Farm Advice, Engagement & Learning, and Communications. This will provide you with technical and soft skills and a comprehensive overview of career opportunities within the UK nature sector.

The role is based in Gloucester but requires independent transport due to travel across Gloucestershire reserves, particularly from March to October. The start date is negotiable, around 2nd November 2026.

Experience
No prior experience is required. This opportunity is designed for individuals aged 18-25 who are eager to start a career in wildlife conservation and willing to learn.
