About the Role
Our 2026 Environmental Summer Placement programme is designed for the brightest and most ambitious undergraduates studying construction-related degrees. This paid placement offers a 6 to 12 week opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on one of Laing O'Rourke's world-class construction sites. You will benefit from structured training, group activities, guidance and support that complement your university education. The programme includes six core learning sessions designed to fit your summer plans and enhance your practical experience on site. You will work alongside the delivery team to support project activities, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards while identifying and implementing good environmental management and sustainability practices. Successful completion of the placement may lead to automatic progression onto our Graduate Development Programme without the need for further application or assessment.
Experience
No prior experience required, but a passion for environmental management, sustainability and the construction industry is essential.
About you
You are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn. You can engage effectively with a range of people and situations and are committed to achieving your career ambitions in the built environment. Flexibility to travel and possibly relocate for rotational placements is required.
Qualifications
You must be currently studying an accredited undergraduate degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or a related field. You should be on target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree classification. You must be eligible to work in the UK without restrictions and hold a valid work permit if applicable.
