About the Role
We are seeking bright and committed graduates to join Laing O'Rourke as Graduate Whole Life Carbon Engineers. This role is vital to our mission of becoming the recognised leader in decarbonising the built environment. You will support the Whole Life Carbon team in deploying carbon measurement and reduction roadmaps across all project types, stages, and disciplines. You will learn and operate carbon measurement software such as OneClick and eTool, becoming a 'superuser' capable of providing outputs for bids, contract validation, project support, and upskilling colleagues. You will attain competency in preparing and reviewing carbon information including Environmental Product Declarations, assist in collecting and analysing carbon data from all project stages, and contribute to knowledge transfer by managing best practice examples and case studies. Additionally, you will prepare training and communication materials for internal and external audiences, support internal knowledge groups, and collaborate with stakeholders, supply-chain partners, and design consultants to improve carbon data processes and automation. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking sustainability team driving whole life decarbonisation including embodied, operational, and maintenance emissions.

The Laing O'Rourke Graduate Development Programme
Our graduate programme is designed to develop your capabilities through practical experience, technical learning, and professional development. You will be challenged and supported to achieve professional accreditation and be part of some of the most exciting construction and infrastructure projects in the UK. The programme encourages continuous learning and personal growth throughout your career.

Application Process
Our recruitment journey includes CV submission, online assessments evaluating workplace approach, critical thinking, and numerical reasoning, a video interview with set questions, and an in-person assessment centre featuring individual tasks, interviews, and group activities. Feedback is provided within two weeks of the assessment centre. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and early application is encouraged.
