At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives, while building a career as unique as you. We are looking for graduates to join our Engagement team in 2027. This is an opportunity to work in a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, helping people understand and engage with projects that shape where they live, work and travel. You’ll support clients and project teams by turning technical information into clear, accessible communications, contributing to consultation activity and helping feedback inform responsible, well-considered decisions.
A little bit more about your role and the team… As a graduate in our Planning Engagement team, you’ll help people understand and engage with projects that can shape where they live, work and travel. You’ll turn technical information into clear, accessible communications, support consultation activity and help project teams listen to feedback so schemes can develop in a responsible and informed way. You could support engagement on major projects across areas such as transport, energy, utilities, regeneration and infrastructure, helping communities, stakeholders and project teams understand proposals and contribute to the development of responsible, informed schemes.
From preparing consultation materials and stakeholder updates to supporting events, analysing feedback and working alongside planners, engineers and environmental specialists, you’ll build your understanding of how effective engagement helps projects progress while reflecting the views and needs of the people they affect.
Our two-year Graduate Development Programme is designed to help you build the skills, experience and professional network needed to thrive at the start of your career with us. Through a blend of structured learning, mentoring and hands-on project experience, you will be supported every step of the way.
Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact. Our global team includes more than 69,000 employees, working together to make a difference in communities both close to home and around the world. With us, you can. Apply today.
Experience
No specific prior experience required, but a strong interest in how people and communities engage with major projects is essential.
About you
You will be motivated to turn technical information into clear, engaging communications. You will be curious, organised and confident supporting consultation activity, events and feedback analysis. You will be comfortable listening to different viewpoints and helping teams respond to feedback responsibly. You will be keen to learn, take ownership and build your career in Planning Engagement.
Qualifications
You will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant master’s degree. You will be looking to start work in April or September 2027. If you don’t quite meet all the criteria but have the right qualifications, you are encouraged to apply as your experience may align with this or other opportunities within the Graduate programme.
