About the Role
Mill Green Golf Club, part of Get Golfing CIO which operates a network of golf courses nationwide, is seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join their team. In this role, you will support the maintenance, preparation, and presentation of high-quality playing surfaces and surrounding grounds. Your day-to-day duties will include turf care, operating specialist machinery, and ensuring the course and facilities are safe, attractive, and playable to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include assisting with the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs; mowing, raking, edging, divoting, and general turf care; operating and maintaining grounds maintenance machinery and hand tools safely; supporting irrigation, drainage, and turf renovation works such as aeration, seeding, and topdressing; preparing the course for competitions and events; monitoring turf health and reporting any issues; following health and safety procedures; supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives; and undertaking general groundskeeping and maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

Experience
Prior experience in golf course maintenance is preferred. Experience in greenkeeping, grounds maintenance, or horticulture is desirable. Knowledge of turf maintenance and environmentally friendly practices is an advantage.

About you
You should have a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential. A passion for golf and a commitment to delivering high standards is required. You must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and have a strong work ethic. Weekend and Bank Holiday availability is necessary.

Qualifications
Interest in turf management, horticulture, or grounds maintenance is mandatory. Ability to operate mowing and turf machinery is desirable. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional overtime is required.
