About the Role
At Anglian Water, our values are that together, we will: Build trust, do the right thing, and we are always exploring. Integrated Maintenance, Repair & Development Services (IMRDS) Alliance – part of the Anglian Water network – focuses on infrastructure maintenance work including water network pressure management, finding and fixing leaks, replacing lead pipes, and repairing burst mains.
As an Assistant Leakage Technician in the Customer Side Leakage Team, employed directly by Anglian Water, your role is crucial to maintaining a reliable water supply and minimizing customer impact. You will carry out a full range of leak detection activities while providing a first-class service to customers.
Responding to jobs raised by Leakage Technicians, you will travel within the water network areas where potential customer side leaks have been identified. Equipped with a fully stocked van and the necessary training, you will assist customers in locating and repairing leaks and help progress the enforcement process when required.
This is a proactive, field-based role where you will support planned maintenance and be the first to investigate customer side leaks. You will develop your leak detection skills daily, using specialist equipment to investigate hidden leaks on customer supply pipes.
Comprehensive hands-on training and job shadowing will be provided, with opportunities to work towards NRSWA accreditation and LTO training (licence to operate).
As a valued employee, you will benefit from personal private healthcare, 26 days annual leave (rising with length of service), access to a company vehicle, tools, uniform and PPE, a competitive pension scheme with Anglian Water double-matching contributions up to 7%, a bonus scheme, and flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
Experience
Previous operational leakage experience including leak detection, resolving customer supply pipe leaks, distribution and leakage repair is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
About you
You will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and ambitious with a passion for hands-on work and problem solving. You should have excellent customer service skills, be a good communicator, and have a reasonable knowledge of IT equipment such as tablets and mobile phones. A willingness to work nights and weekends as required is essential.
A full driving licence is essential as you will have access to a company vehicle.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role, but a commitment to learning and development is important. You will be supported to gain NRSWA accreditation and LTO training during your employment.
