About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for Sludge Tankering Logistics to orchestrate the efficient and safe transportation of sludge from wastewater treatment plants to designated disposal, recycling, or treatment facilities. This role requires meticulous planning, strong logistical acumen, and a keen focus on regulatory compliance to ensure seamless execution of operations.

Key responsibilities include demonstrating visible safety leadership, liaising with the WROL Planning Manager on vehicle and driver performance, managing compliance with the Operator’s License, and ensuring operations are effective, efficient, and safe. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to drive compliance with environmental and water quality standards and help achieve business goals and priorities.

Experience
- Transport Managers CPC – UK Road Haulage Operations (National)
- Significant experience in UK road transport operations in a senior scheduling/controlling role
- Experience in tanker operations, preferably sewage sludge and/or biosolids collection and haulage or sewer jetting operations
- Skilled in vehicle performance analysis and reporting to senior management
- Proficient IT skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
- Proven leadership skills with ability to challenge and improve performance results

Qualifications
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH)
