About the Role

As Associate Director - Commercial Consultancy, you will be responsible for managing safe, compliant and sustainable project delivery, maintaining excellence across quality, cost, programme and performance standards. You will provide strategic leadership for project and commercial activities, overseeing contracts, governance and client outcomes. Your role includes driving ethical, financially responsible operations that support net zero ambitions and deliver value for clients and communities. You will direct, mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering inclusion, continuous improvement and best practice in cost management. Key responsibilities include directing commercial and contractual activities such as contract execution, certifications, claims management and project close-out, as well as cost control, valuations and post-contract reporting to provide clear commercial insight to clients and stakeholders. You will identify and manage commercial risks, design changes and carbon reduction opportunities to support sustainable project outcomes.

Experience
Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Strong bidding and business development experience. Strong commercial and financial acumen. Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. Management experience within large, diverse teams. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
