About the Role
Bring your energy to Aggreko as a BESS Technician based in our Operations Team at the Widnes depot. You will be responsible for ensuring all fleet assets are made ready for hire through turnarounds, repairs, and maintenance, including upgrades, retrofits, and modifications to meet customer requirements. Power without pause. Heating, cooling, and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on, from world-class events lasting a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities relying on us for decades.
What you’ll do as a BESS Technician:
- Carry out post-contract assessments on returned fleet assets to determine required work and assign correct status
- Inspect, diagnose, and resolve faults, performing modifications or customisations in line with customer specifications
- Perform maintenance and repair activities following company procedures and liaise with approved suppliers when necessary
- Provide technical and operational support to the wider business, focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), both remotely and on-site
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date service appointments, records, and documentation, including Field Service Logs (FSL) and ATA reports for each asset
Experience
Experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including fleet maintenance, fault finding, and electrical repairs.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting safe working practices
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Flexible approach and willingness to travel when required
Qualifications
A recognised technical qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
