About the Role
Are you interested in taking practical action to help deliver complex construction and refurbishment projects while supporting major sustainability challenges? This exciting opportunity within the Built Environment Project team involves managing a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from £50k to £5m across the University estate. You will lead the practical delivery of carbon reduction projects and provide 'Arm's Length' support to our Third-Party Energy Partner, ensuring major infrastructure projects meet our high standards.
Reporting to the Head of Built Environment Projects, you will develop client briefs, appoint specialist consultants and contractors, and take full responsibility for project delivery. You will be supported by an experienced team working on capital development, maintenance, and sustainability-led projects. Our friendly and flexible team promotes a positive work-life balance.
Key responsibilities include managing formal Construction Contracts, client relationships, project scope, financial performance, quality, and programme adherence. You will also support the development and implementation of business cases and projects focused on carbon reduction, working closely with the Energy Manager and Head of Sustainability.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver exciting construction projects across a varied building stock while collaborating with academics, technical managers, and professional services teams within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Experience
- Proven project delivery experience within a diverse and complex operating environment
- Working knowledge of the JCT 2024 Suite of Contracts (training provided for the right candidate)
- Experience in procuring and managing external consultants to achieve project objectives
