About the Role
Join Forestry England, a passionate team dedicated to growing the nation’s forests for everyone and creating amazing places and experiences. As a Community Ranger, you will work closely with local communities to ensure that recreational facilities are well maintained and appropriate for their needs. You will be the visible and welcoming face of Forestry England, running volunteer sessions, communicating about forestry operations, carrying out trail and facility checks, and responding to enquiries via email, phone, or face to face. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive difference for people and the environment by supporting sustainable forestry and outdoor recreation in your area.

Requirements

Experience
Relevant experience working with communities or in a similar role is desirable. Experience in outdoor or environmental settings is advantageous.

You are enthusiastic, approachable, and committed to engaging with diverse communities. You have strong communication skills and the ability to respond effectively to enquiries in person, by phone, and email. You are motivated to support sustainable forestry and recreational access, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements stated for this role. However, the ability to provide accurate spoken English is essential. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal record check and government baseline personnel security standard check.
