About the Role
Join Forestry England, the country’s largest land manager, as a Works Supervisor within the Habitat Restoration team based in the New Forest. You will support Restoration Officers to plan and manage the delivery of a landscape-scale habitat restoration programme funded by the New Forest Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) scheme. This role focuses on restoring and enhancing internationally important heathlands, species-rich grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands in the New Forest. You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to growing the nation’s forests, improving biodiversity, and creating amazing places for people to enjoy. The South England Forest District manages 46,000 hectares of public forest estate across Sussex, Dorset, Berkshire, and the Isle of Wight, including areas of national and international conservation importance. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to vital conservation work while supporting public access and recreation in these treasured landscapes.

Benefits
Alongside your salary, Forestry England contributes an average of 28.97% towards your pension through the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme. You will receive 25 days holiday per year, increasing by one day per year of service up to 30 days (pro-rated for part-time employees), plus bank holidays. Additional benefits include access to the STaR employee discount scheme, free parking at Forestry England sites, free entry to National Arboretums at Westonbirt and Bedgebury, and a strong commitment to lifelong learning and career development through continual professional development and sponsored membership of professional bodies.
