About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Deputy Parks & Amenities Manager to support the delivery and development of the Council’s parks, open spaces, cemeteries, and allotments. In this varied role, you will manage a team of Parks Officers, act as deputy to the Parks & Amenities Manager, and lead on contract procurement, service improvements, and policy development. You will combine operational management with strategic input to enhance and sustain our green spaces. The Council offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from home up to three days per week, subject to role requirements.

Experience
Significant experience in a similar role with responsibility for managing a team. Proven ability in contract procurement, service improvement, and policy development within parks or amenities management.
About You
Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills are essential. You should be IT proficient, analytical, and capable of delivering high-quality work under pressure. Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend meetings is required. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are necessary.
Qualifications
HND or degree in Landscape Management, Horticulture, or a related discipline, or working towards such qualifications. Knowledge of parks-related legislation, policies, and democratic processes is essential.
