About the Role
Hertsmere Borough Council is seeking Refuse / Recycling Loaders to join our efficient street cleansing, waste, and recycling collection service within and around Hertsmere. The role involves collecting all types of refuse and recycling waste from litter bins, residential bins, and trade bins, and loading them into refuse vehicles. This physically demanding job requires excellent fitness levels, as you will be expected to walk between 8 to 12 miles per day. You will work as part of a team to ensure the timely and effective collection of waste, contributing to the cleanliness and wellbeing of the community.

Experience
Proven experience of heavy manual work involving lifting is essential. You must be capable of pulling and emptying refuse bins efficiently and safely.

About you
You should have a strong customer service approach, communicating positively and working effectively within a team. Self-motivation and the ability to work without close supervision are important attributes for this role. Excellent physical fitness and stamina are required to meet the demands of the job.

No formal qualifications are required for this position, but a commitment to health and safety and a responsible attitude towards work are essential.
