About the Role
Join Veolia as a 7.5T Driver/Loader supporting the delivery of Streets and Parks cleansing and maintenance services. You will ensure the delivery of customer-focused, high-quality services in line with the Council's expectations. Your duties will include driving a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes and operating a mechanical broom (training provided). You may work alone or as part of a team, ensuring tasks are completed to schedule and reporting any discrepancies to your Foreman or Manager.
At the start and end of each shift, you will check equipment condition and exchange damaged or worn-out items. You will empty litterbins within your beat, replace liners properly, and lock bins securely. Reporting all accidents fully to your Foreman/Manager and, if appropriate, to the Police is essential. Maintaining courteous and professional relationships with the public, client staff, and colleagues is expected.
You will comply with Health and Safety legislation, company Codes of Practice, and safe working procedures at all times. You will report locations of fly-tipping, graffiti, fly-posting, or damaged/missing litter bins to your Foreman. When required, you will undertake daily vehicle checks as per the Drivers/Operator handbook and comply with all traffic laws and legislation, including load security and weight regulations.
Veolia offers a supportive working environment with 26 days annual leave, access to a pension scheme, free physiotherapy, discounts on groceries and retailers, and resources to support your physical, mental, and financial health. You will have 24-hour access to a virtual GP for you and your household, ongoing training and development opportunities, and financial wellbeing support through Stream, including early access to earned pay, savings, budgeting, coaching, and rewards.
