£36,500 starting salary with potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE including bonus and on-call payments

About the Role
Join Octopus Energy and help us drive the global renewable energy revolution. As a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer, you will be representing our brand in customers’ homes, installing smart meters and educating customers on how their meters and in-home displays work to help them save energy. You will be supported by a dedicated office team and benefit from Octopus Energy’s advanced technology, which reduces administrative tasks so you can focus on delivering excellent service.

You will fit meters, demonstrate their use, answer customer questions about green energy, and work closely with your team to meet performance goals. This role offers a company vehicle, fuel, tools, and a comprehensive support system to ensure you can perform at your best.

Additional earnings include a £2,500 annual performance bonus, fit bonuses, £25 weekly lunch allowance, referral programme, company pension, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and a health and wellbeing programme. For every asset installed beyond your sixth, you will earn an additional £15.

Call-out and overtime payments include a £250 retainer for call-out weeks, door-to-door pay if called out, and Saturday working rates of £50 for attendance, £70 for dual fuel installations, and £35 for single fuel installations. Technical aborts are paid at half rate.

Our recruitment process includes eligibility screening, a phone call, a virtual interview with field team members, and a practical trade test near your location. We aim to complete the process within four weeks and provide flexibility to suit your schedule.

Experience
Previous experience installing smart meters is required.

About you
You have a customer-first mindset and a can-do attitude. You are safety-conscious and committed to delivering excellent customer service. A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points is essential.

Qualifications
Valid MOCoPA certification held within the last 2 years (evidence required).
Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent).
