About the Role
Are you passionate about biodiversity and ready to shape the future of ecological planning? Join Charnwood Borough Council as a Senior Ecologist within our Natural and Built Environment Team. You will provide expert ecological advice throughout the planning process—from pre-application to condition discharge and monitoring biodiversity net gain. You will ensure the Council meets its duties under the Environment Act 2021 and collaborate with planners, developers, agents, consultants, environmental groups, and councillors. You will also support the development of our Biodiversity Strategy and Supplementary Planning Document. Experience
Significant experience in ecology, ideally within the planning system, with a practical understanding of ecological protection and enhancement.
About You
A skilled ecologist passionate about biodiversity and ecological planning, able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and support strategic biodiversity initiatives.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in a relevant ecological or environmental discipline.
