About the Role
Are you passionate about leading environmental excellence on large-scale construction projects? Ready to make a tangible impact on a complex site with challenging environmental constraints? Laing O'Rourke is seeking a highly skilled Environment Manager to join our team driving sustainable success on a flagship project. This is a unique opportunity to lead environmental performance on a major project, working within a collaborative partnership alongside some of the industry's leading contractors, consultants, and sustainability professionals.
Key responsibilities include managing environmental risks and ensuring best practice across all project phases from design through delivery. You will lead and oversee remediation activities alongside specialist contractors, ensuring environmental best practices and mitigation measures are rigorously applied. Collaboration with internal teams—including project leadership, design, and construction—is essential to develop robust construction methodologies and deliver client-ready environmental documentation.
You will develop and implement ISO 14001 compliant Environmental Management Systems (EMS), policies, and procedures. Managing and supervising direct and subcontractor site teams to ensure all activities align with environmental regulations and project goals is a core part of the role. You will serve as the primary liaison with external regulators and authorities, securing essential consents and permits to keep works on track. Additionally, you will support the leadership team by contributing detailed environmental insights to main works cost development and risk management.
Join Laing O'Rourke and take a leading role in a major UK project to help deliver a greener, more sustainable future.
