About the Role

Join Tetra Tech’s NALO (Noise, Air Quality, Lighting and Odour) team, a multidisciplinary group of 30+ consultants delivering expert advice and innovative solutions across a wide range of projects. As an Environmental Consultant specialising in Air Quality and Odour, you will undertake surveys, modelling, and assessments to evaluate the potential air quality impacts of new developments including housing, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Your work will help protect existing and future residents, as well as sensitive ecological species, from air pollution effects. Projects range from small-scale planning applications to major infrastructure developments, involving modelling of traffic pollution, industrial emissions, and odour sources.

This role offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, including producing air quality assessments, conducting environmental surveys (sometimes requiring overnight stays and occasional weekends), and contributing to expert witness work. You will be involved in project management, quality assurance reviews, and mentoring junior team members. The position is open to candidates from various experience levels up to Principal, depending on your background and skills.

Experience
- Proven track record in air quality consultancy with demonstrable skills and project examples
- Experience using ADMS Roads modelling software
- Experience with AERMOD and GIS software preferred but not essential
- Project management experience
- Experience undertaking peer reviews for quality assurance
- Experience working collaboratively with clients and external organisations
- Ability to interpret geospatial data accurately for survey locations
- Comfortable using technical field equipment with minimal supervision
- Full manual UK driving licence essential
