About the Role

At Tetra Tech, you will join a high-performing team passionate about solving complex environmental challenges across water, infrastructure, resource management, energy, and international development sectors. Our Noise, Air Quality, Lighting and Odour (NALO) team of over 30 multidisciplinary consultants undertake surveys, assessments, and provide expert advice on a wide range of projects from small planning applications to expert witness roles at hearings and inquiries.
As a member of the air quality team, you will work on diverse projects involving surveys, modelling, and assessments to evaluate potential air quality impacts from new developments including housing, industrial, commercial, and educational facilities. Projects range from small scale to major infrastructure and construction sites, aiming to protect existing and future residents as well as sensitive ecological species from air pollution.
Your main focus will be producing air quality assessments, with some involvement in environmental surveys that may occasionally require overnight stays or weekend work. We are recruiting across various levels up to Principal, depending on experience. The role includes quality assurance reviews, project management, and line management responsibilities. You will mentor and support less experienced team members while continuing your own professional development.
Our team is spread across the UK with a flexible approach to working location, but attendance at the office at least twice weekly is required. The NALO team is primarily based in Leicester, Manchester, Leeds, and London offices.
Key Responsibilities

Experience
- Proven track record in air quality consultancy with demonstrable skills and relevant project examples
- Experience using ADMS Roads modelling software
- Experience with AERMOD and GIS software preferred but not essential
- Project management experience
- Line management experience preferred but not essential
- Experience conducting peer reviews of survey, assessment, and reporting work for quality assurance
- Experience working collaboratively with clients and external organisations
- Strong geospatial interpretation skills to identify precise survey locations
- Ability to use technical equipment in the field with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines

Qualifications
