About the Role
BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Northville, Michigan, servicing Federal and Industrial sectors across the United States. We provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Engineering Support Specialist to join our team supporting the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron (100 CES) at Royal Air Force Mildenhall (RAF), UK. The role involves managing environmental compliance and planning phases of surge projects, assisting in drafting AF Form 813 workflows, integrating project designs, and tracking mitigation requirements throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage site and facility environmental reviews, analyze technical data and UK environmental regulations, and draft compliant, technically sound project recommendations for government project managers. The position requires organizing technical tasks, synthesizing data across multiple disciplines, and effectively communicating complex compliance information to facilitate stakeholder and regulatory coordination.

Requirements

Experience
A minimum of four (4) years of professional-level experience in project management with a focus on environmental project management, EIAP/NEPA compliance, and regulatory comment resolution is required.

About you
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously. Demonstrated ability to analyze engineering submittals to identify site constraints and recommend risk reduction and environmental impact mitigation measures. Familiarity with DoD/USAF environmental directives (specifically DAFI 32-1015), overseas compliance mandates, and UK environmental regulations is essential. Professional knowledge of environmental planning concepts, UK town planning, environmental impact assessment frameworks, and natural/cultural sciences is required. Ability to quickly adapt to US Government/Air Force systems and workflows (e.g., eDASH, AF Form 813 routing) is highly desired. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI/CAC clearance is required. Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or UK equivalent) and/or relevant environmental certification is highly desired but not required. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field is required.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and remain stationary or seated for at least 60% of the time. Ability to operate office equipment including computer, copier, and phone. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs.
