About the Role
Join Weetabix as an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Apprentice and become an essential part of our mission to achieve Zero Accidents and Zero Environmental Harm (Goal Zero). You will support daily EHS activities, help enhance safety and environmental practices, and contribute to exciting improvement projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an impressive team while completing a Level 3 Safety Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship with our training partner, the University of Lincoln.
Key responsibilities include assisting with safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; supporting risk assessments and safe work systems; recording and analysing safety data including near misses and corrective actions; supporting environmental initiatives such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency; and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
You will also work on the implementation of EHS management systems aligned with Weetabix standards, assist in audit preparations, engage in policy and risk control reviews, contribute to safety communications and awareness campaigns, promote a proactive safety culture, participate in EHS meetings and site improvement efforts, and assist in learning activities and sharing best practices.
As part of your development, you will fulfill the Level 3 SHE Technician Apprenticeship requirements through mentoring, coaching, and job shadowing, taking ownership of your personal learning and performance.

Experience
Previous work experience in manufacturing, engineering, or food production is desirable but not essential. Demonstrated interest in environment, health and safety or sustainability is required.
About you
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisational skills with attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively within a team and promote a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above in English, Mathematics and Science are required. A Levels or a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject such as Science, Engineering, or Environmental Studies are desirable. Awareness of EHS legislation or management systems (e.g. ISO 45001 / ISO 14001) is advantageous. Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected.
