About the Role
Holcim is a leader in supplying innovative, sustainable building solutions to the UK construction industry, committed to making sustainable construction a reality. We are currently hiring two Environmental Permitting Managers to support our growing operations. You will have regional coverage tailored to your location and play a key role in ensuring our sites operate with the correct environmental permits and licences in place. This role offers a mix of office-based work, site visits, home working, and regional travel, providing autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to make a real impact across our circular economy and mineral development operations. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting environmental permitting for waste management facilities, mineral developments, infill and restoration projects; preparing, negotiating, and managing applications for waste, water and other environmental permits; ensuring all submissions meet statutory requirements and follow correct guidance; acting as a key point of contact with regulators such as the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities; providing clear advice to operational teams on permit conditions, obligations, and compliance; supporting investigations and corrective actions for non-compliances; and keeping up to date with changes in environmental permitting legislation while contributing to company responses to public consultations.

Company Benefits
Competitive salary, company car, bonus scheme, 25 days holiday plus local bank holidays (with options to increase), enhanced family benefits including maternity, paternity and adoption leave, free 24/7 remote GP service for you and your household, staff discounts including special rates for garden landscaping products, opportunities for career progression both domestically and internationally, and participation in affinity groups and the "Women Empowered - Stronger Together Mentor Program" designed to support and inspire women across the business. Holcim places a strong focus on health and safety and values working as part of a highly respected team.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in environmental permitting, ideally within the waste management, recycling, or minerals sector. Experience managing multiple priorities and working with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, SEPA, and local authorities.

About you
Effective communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills. Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently. Confident in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Adaptable, self-motivated, and able to travel regionally. Committed to diversity and inclusion, with a willingness to contribute positively to an equal opportunity workplace.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in environmental management, permitting, or related disciplines are desirable but not explicitly stated. A strong understanding of environmental permitting legislation and compliance requirements is essential.
