About the Role
Holcim is a leader in supplying innovative, sustainable building solutions to the UK construction industry, committed to making sustainable construction a reality. We are hiring two Environmental Permitting Managers to support our growing operations across waste management, recycling, and mineral development sectors. You will lead and support environmental permitting for waste management facilities, mineral developments, infill and restoration projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing, negotiating, and managing applications for waste, water and other environmental permits, ensuring all submissions meet statutory requirements and follow correct guidance. Acting as a key point of contact with regulators such as the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities, you will provide clear advice to operational teams on permit conditions, obligations, and compliance. You will also support investigations and corrective actions for any non-compliances and keep up to date with changes in environmental permitting legislation, contributing to company responses to public consultations. This role offers autonomy, influence, and the chance to make a real impact across our circular economy and mineral development operations.
Company Benefits
Competitive salary, company car, bonus, 25 days holiday plus local bank holidays with options to increase. Enhanced family benefits including maternity, paternity, and adoption leave. Access to a free 24/7 remote GP service for you and your household. Opportunities for career progression both domestically and internationally. A strong focus on health and safety and a supportive, inclusive working environment.
Experience
Proven experience in environmental permitting, ideally within the waste management, recycling, or minerals sector. Experience preparing and managing environmental permit applications and liaising with regulatory bodies.
About you
Effective communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills. Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently. Confident in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable with regional travel. Committed to working within a diverse and inclusive environment.
