About the Role
At Bupa, our purpose is simple: helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. This role sits within Finance and is led by the Group Finance Director of Sustainability and Tax. You will be responsible for all aspects of Group reporting, planning, and forecasting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
Your key responsibilities include leading the production of the Group’s reporting and planning for GHG emissions, underpinned by effective processes, robust controls, and governance frameworks to achieve Bupa’s sustainability goals. You will play a key role in delivering scope 3 finance transformation activities covering measurement and reporting of GHG emissions from our value chain (categories 1-14) and investments (category 15).
You will work closely with the sustainable finance team, Group Sustainability, and Market Units to support the delivery of Bupa’s 3x100 strategy and sustainability strategy, Better World. Additionally, you will support implementation of upcoming Group sustainability regulatory reporting requirements, including Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS).
Other duties include delivering regular GHG emissions reporting, acting as the relationship lead with Market Units, driving scope 3 finance transformation in readiness for external assurance and disclosure, leading internal and external reporting and data-driven insights across scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and continuously improving reporting processes and controls.
You will design and operate controls to avoid or resolve issues affecting reporting, identify and escalate weaknesses or opportunities, provide strong business partnering to stakeholders, support preparation of papers for Group Governance Committees, and assist with changes to external reporting requirements. You will also support timely delivery of annual global assurance and own your personal development and capability improvement.
Experience
Finance qualification with post-qualification experience – ACA, CIMA or equivalent (essential). Knowledge of GHG Protocol and PCAF, including investment asset classes, and sustainability reporting standards such as CSRD and UK SRS is desirable. Proven advanced Excel skills with experience managing complex models and analysing large datasets. Experience using, maintaining, and developing financial or non-financial systems. Previous experience with GHG accounting systems, Oracle, Workiva, Aladdin Risk, and Climate and Watershed is desirable.
