About the Role
Join Forestry England, a passionate team dedicated to growing the nation’s forests for everyone. As a Forester (Woodland Creation), you will be part of the South district team working closely with the national woodland creation team to deliver ambitious woodland expansion projects. Your role will involve developing high-quality plans and coordinating forest operations on new woodland creation sites totaling 234.31 hectares in Hampshire and Kent. There may be future opportunities to support other woodland creation projects across England, which could involve travel and overnight stays. Together, we are creating vital habitats for wildlife, improving air quality, producing sustainable timber, and creating amazing places and experiences for the public to enjoy.

Requirements

Experience
Relevant experience in forestry or woodland creation is desirable. Candidates will be assessed on their experience and behaviours including Delivering at Pace, Making Effective Decisions, Working Together, and Communicating and Influencing.

About you
You should be passionate about forestry and the environment, motivated to contribute to woodland creation projects, and able to work collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay overnight across England is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential.

Qualifications
