About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, hands-on domestic couple to join a young family at their beautiful Highland lodge in rural Ross-shire. The role is brand-new and ideal for a couple who enjoy rural living and seek a long-term position.
Housekeeper
An experienced housekeeper with excellent attention to detail is required. No childcare duties are involved as the family employs a full-time nanny for their three children, but the role would suit a child-oriented housekeeper. Duties include full hands-on cleaning to a high standard, laundry and ironing, care of antique furniture, fine furnishings and delicate finishes, and keeping the house beautifully organised and presented. No cooking is required.
Gardener/Groundsman
An experienced sole gardener/groundsman is needed to maintain approximately three acres of formal garden and grounds within the wider estate. Responsibilities include herbaceous borders, shrubs and general garden maintenance, pruning, weeding, hedge cutting, chainsaw work, log splitting, general grounds and estate maintenance, laying and maintaining fires, and other practical outdoor duties as required, including ad hoc driving for errands.
The couple must be practical, proactive, and hands-on, with a genuine appreciation for country living. Two drivers are preferred due to the rural location but only one is essential.
The role is set to commence in February 2027, with interviews ongoing now.
Experience
Proven experience as a housekeeper with attention to detail and experience in maintaining formal gardens and grounds. Experience with chainsaw work and general estate maintenance is essential.
About you
Practical, proactive, and hands-on individuals who appreciate rural living. The couple should be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong work ethic and reliability. Two drivers preferred but only one essential due to the rural location.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are specified; however, relevant experience and a professional attitude are required.
