About the Role
Do you have a background in contaminated land investigation and assessment? Kiwa CMT is seeking a Geo-Environmental Engineer to manage and deliver a variety of geo-environmental projects, including site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, waste assessments, and technical reporting. You will take ownership of projects, ensuring delivery to a high standard and within agreed timescales. Key responsibilities include liaising with clients, stakeholders, regulators, subcontractors, and internal teams; preparing detailed quotations, processing orders, and scheduling project work; undertaking soil and groundwater sampling, ground gas and groundwater monitoring; supervising subcontractors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and project specifications; preparing samples and coordinating chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing; producing Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, Remediation Strategies, and Verification/Validation reports; assessing and interpreting analytical results including human health and waste assessments; providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior colleagues; maintaining sample storage facilities and updating tracking systems and databases; and upholding high standards of site and laboratory working practices at all times.

Experience
- Proven track record in contaminated land investigation and assessment including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, options appraisals, remediation design, supervision, and verification/validation across a range of projects and clients
- Proven project management experience of contaminated land and brownfield projects
- Knowledge and experience of WM3 and waste assessment using HazWasteOnline
- Experience using HoleBASE software
- Proficient at logging soil and rock to BS5930:2015+A1:2020
- Relevant health and safety training such as CSCS, manual handling, asbestos awareness

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, chemistry, environmental science) or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Working toward chartership with evidence of ongoing CPD maintenance
