About the Role
Kiwa CMT is seeking a Geo-Environmental Supervisor to lead and manage the Geo-Environmental team, delivering high-quality contaminated land and brownfield projects. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity to shape project delivery and support team development. Key duties include line managing the team with regular 1 to 1s and annual reviews, providing technical guidance, training and mentoring, and taking overall responsibility for the financial, operational and technical performance of the department. You will manage and deliver a range of geo-environmental projects, including programme and budget control, design and completion of phased contaminated land investigations, and waste, topsoil, macadam and related investigations. The role involves liaising with clients, regulators, stakeholders, subcontractors and internal teams, preparing quotes, scheduling work, undertaking soil and groundwater sampling, ground gas and groundwater monitoring, and supervising subcontractors. You will also support recruitment activities, coordinate laboratory testing, produce Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, remediation strategies and verification reports, assess analytical results including human health and waste assessments, maintain sample storage systems and tracking software, and attend management and forecasting meetings.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record in contaminated land investigation and assessment including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, options appraisals, remediation design, supervision and verification/validation across a variety of projects and clients
- Project management experience of contaminated land and brownfield projects
- Experience managing or supervising a team (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of WM3 and waste assessment using HazWasteOnline
- Experience using HoleBASE software
- Proficient at logging soil and rock to BS5930:2015+A1:2020
- Relevant health and safety training such as CSCS, manual handling, asbestos awareness

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering or science subject such as geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, chemistry or environmental science, or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Working toward chartership with evidence of ongoing CPD maintenance
