About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Glasshouse Manager to oversee the Princess of Wales Conservatory on a maternity cover basis. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of one of the world’s most renowned glasshouses, ensuring the health and display of a diverse collection of plants from tropical and subtropical environments. You will lead a team of horticulturists and technicians, maintaining high standards of plant care, environmental control, and visitor experience. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the conservation, research, and education mission of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Experience
Proven experience in managing glasshouse or conservatory environments, with strong horticultural knowledge particularly in tropical and subtropical plants. Experience leading and motivating a team in a botanical or horticultural setting is essential.

Organised, proactive and passionate about plant conservation and education. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of plant health and visitor engagement.

Qualifications
A relevant horticultural qualification or equivalent experience is required. Knowledge of environmental control systems and plant health management is highly desirable.
