About the Role

Your purpose will be to assist in the preparation, setting up, and maintenance of the golf course, machinery, and surrounding areas under the instruction of the Golf Course Manager. You will maintain standards, safety, and quality of service as outlined in the department SOP.
Key responsibilities include assisting with golf course maintenance duties, managing and maintaining machinery according to manufacturer guidelines, prioritising work in line with golf course needs, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, managing stock and onsite store of fast moving parts, maintaining accurate service records, and fabricating miscellaneous items to improve maintenance efficiency. Experience with Oxyacetylene, Arc and MIG welding, brazing, soldering, and cylinder grinding machinery is required. Flexibility and multi-skilling are essential as you may be asked to perform different tasks to meet the needs of guests and colleagues.

Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in golf course machinery maintenance, land-based engineering, or a similar mechanical/technical role within grounds, turf, or agricultural settings. Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on specialist turf or golf course machinery. Experience operating Oxyacetylene, Arc and MIG welding equipment, brazing, soldering, and using cylinder-grinding machinery. Experience fabricating parts or components to support machinery efficiency and course operations.
About you
Ability to prioritise workload in line with golf course maintenance needs and operational demands. Flexible and willing to multi-skill to meet the needs of guests and colleagues. Basic IT skills including use of maintenance logs, digital service records, or manufacturer software. Strong organisational skills to manage stock levels and workshop documentation.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification or above in Land-Based Technology or Engineering (or equivalent). Formal Health & Safety training, ideally equivalent to NVQ Level 3, including safe use of horticultural chemicals and workshop safety procedures. Knowledge of specialist golf course equipment including cutting units, utility vehicles, and irrigation system maintenance requirements.
