About the Role
Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer in our Newcastle office. You will contribute to ground assessment, geotechnical and geoenvironmental work across a range of infrastructure, water, and community-focused projects. Working within a friendly and collaborative ground assessment team, you will apply your skills to real-world challenges and help deliver high-quality outputs for clients. The team provides expertise from early design stages through to construction, supporting projects including water company initiatives, infrastructure development, site characterisation, and environmental risk assessment.
Your core responsibilities will include supporting ground investigations, site characterisation, and preparing ground investigation specifications and reports; assessing geotechnical laboratory data; preparing ground models; supporting fundamental geotechnical design calculations; contributing to geotechnical inputs such as foundations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability, and earthworks; reviewing historical maps and environmental information to identify potential contamination sources; evaluating soils and groundwater data to support environmental risk assessments and sustainable soil reuse or remediation options; and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Stantec.
We are committed to supporting your professional development and progression towards relevant chartered status with institutions such as ICE, GSL, and/or IES, depending on your pathway and technical focus. Your work will help deliver better outcomes for communities and the environment by supporting safe, sustainable, and informed development of infrastructure and water-sector projects.
