About the Role
Zenobē is on a mission to make clean power accessible by designing, financing, building, and operating sophisticated battery systems that enable greater renewable power uptake, electrify fleets for cleaner air, and provide clean, portable power solutions. As the UK's leading battery storage owner and operator, and a major player in the e-bus market in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, we are rapidly expanding and looking for a Grid Connections Manager to join our team.

In this role, you will be Zenobē’s lead expert on all matters related to grid connection applications, agreements, processes, policy, and stakeholder relationship management within the GB electricity transmission industry. You will manage the full transmission connection lifecycle including application, contract and milestone management, and compliance activities to ensure projects are energised on schedule.

You will act as the main point of contact with key stakeholders such as DNOs, TOs, NESO, and Ofgem, building strategic relationships at both working and senior levels. You will also lead Zenobē’s engagement with industry policy development and code changes, influencing outcomes to benefit the company.

The role requires the ability to work at pace, manage ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. You will collaborate closely with Business Development, Project Development, Engineering teams, and delivery partners to ensure technical and contractual requirements are met.

Experience
- Proven experience in the GB transmission system user connection process
- Excellent understanding of connection agreements, GB Grid Code, CUSC, and SQSS
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and policy issues in the GB electricity transmission connections sector
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and influence external stakeholders
- Experience reviewing and challenging NESO and Transmission Owner technical requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Qualifications
- No specific formal qualifications required, but relevant experience and knowledge are essential

Desirable Competencies
- Previous experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) greater than 50MW
- Experience developing commercial business cases for energy projects
- Ability to work from the London HQ when required
