As Head of Content Design, you will provide expert strategic leadership to reshape and lead the departmental GOV.UK content design team. This new role involves developing and implementing a new content strategy aligned with corporate objectives, managing a busy workflow of day-to-day publishing and strategic projects, and working with a wide variety of stakeholders across the department.

You will champion best practice to ensure content is understandable, usable, and accessible to the public. You will continuously improve project management processes and staff outreach to deliver the highest quality service. GOV.UK is a trusted platform with billions of page views annually, and this role offers the opportunity to work with top experts on a high priority government mission to deliver timely and trustworthy content.

Experience
Specific experience with GOV.UK content design is essential, as you will act as a recognised expert and advocate for GOV.UK and cross-government ways of working. Proven experience in developing and delivering organisational content strategies, running large and complex content improvement projects, and leading and improving team operations is required. You must have strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence senior stakeholders with complex needs.

Qualifications
There are no specific content design qualifications required, but evidence of personal development and training in the field is beneficial. You will be assessed against behaviours such as Changing and Improving, Leadership, and technical skills including Strategic Thinking and Stakeholder Relationship Management within Content Design.
