About the Role
Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking a Health, Safety and Waste Administrator to support the Health and Safety Manager in coordinating and implementing the delivery of Health, Safety and Risk strategies at the facility, including waste responsibilities. The Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team provide peace of mind for a wide range of treatments.
The role involves managing all administrative requirements for maintaining the Health & Safety Management System folder, collating Health & Safety incidents from Datix reports including trends and near misses, updating local health and safety arrangements and policies, and distributing them throughout the facility. You will maintain the Hospital Wide Action Plan spreadsheet and follow up on outstanding actions as directed by the Health and Safety Manager.
Additional responsibilities include administering Health & Safety Flash alerts and responding to the central health and safety team within 7 days, collating departmental responses, managing Health & Safety training records, assisting with course registration and issuing certificates. You will advise the Health and Safety Manager if actions or risk assessments are not managed in a timely manner, and take and distribute minutes for all Health and Safety meetings, including Water, Fire, Waste management, and Safety Representatives meetings.
There is an expectation to complete further Health and Safety qualifications as part of this role, with a view to future promotion.
Experience
Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-oriented organisation is desirable. Ideally, candidates will have at least 3 years of administration experience. Experience with Health & Safety and risk issues and legislation is advantageous. Competent user of the MS Office suite is essential to meet the requirements of the role.

Qualifications
Understanding of Health & Safety and risk legislation is important. IOSH qualification is desirable. Further Health and Safety qualifications will be supported and expected as part of the role.
