Join a dynamic and growing team within Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group company, supporting United Utilities’ wastewater network services during the AMP 7 period. As an HGV Waste Water Operative based at Ellesmere Port WWTW, you will work alongside a United Utilities Customer Support Technician on the Bucket 1 reactive contract, solving problems on the sewer network.

Your key responsibilities include working closely with the CST to clean, camera, and investigate sewers as directed by United Utilities. You will attend to customers, providing information about works and addressing concerns and timescales. You will inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage, operate high-pressure water jetting equipment, carry out CCTV inspections, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. Competency in using electronic devices such as laptops or tablets for data entry is essential. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to report any safety issues in line with company procedures.

Experience
Class 2 HGV licence with no more than 6 points.
Experience operating high-pressure water jetting equipment is desirable.
Experience in drainage investigations and CCTV inspections is advantageous.

Strong customer service and communication skills with confidence to explain works, timescales, and answer queries professionally.
Competent in using laptops, tablets, and digital systems for recording job information.
Understanding of Health & Safety legislation with the ability to identify and report safety concerns.
Ability to carry out routine equipment checks, maintenance, and servicing.
Capable of working effectively as part of a team alongside a CST.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in varying environments.

Qualifications
Valid Class 2 HGV licence.
Knowledge of CCTV drainage inspections and sewer condition assessment is desirable but not essential.
