About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Historic Environment Consultant to join our growing multidisciplinary Climate and Sustainability Services (CSS) team. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in UK archaeology and heritage consultancy to contribute to a wide range of projects and help shape the future of historic environment work. You will prepare Historic Environment Desk Based Assessments, undertake site and archive visits, and contribute to Historic Environment Environmental Statement (ES) chapters. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines to achieve project objectives.
In addition to pre-planning assessment, experience in the design and management of archaeological fieldwork, including Archaeological Clerk of Work duties, is highly valued. You will manage fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications through to delivery of bespoke archaeological strategies for large infrastructure projects under senior supervision. Your consultancy advice will support clients in achieving their objectives across all aspects of the historic environment.
As a core member of the London-based team, you will work closely with colleagues in the Midlands and report to a designated line manager. Projects are located throughout the UK and the role requires occasional travel.
At Arup, you will belong to an extraordinary collective that encourages individuality and values diverse experiences and perspectives. You will have the opportunity to do socially meaningful work that impacts your career, our clients, and the communities we serve.
