About the Role
Join Arup, a global collective of designers, advisors, and experts dedicated to sustainable development. As part of the Climate and Sustainability Services business, the environment team leads and delivers Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for nationally significant projects across transport, water, and energy sectors. Projects include renewable energy developments, transport infrastructure, and critical national infrastructure such as offshore wind farms, mass transit systems, and major grid upgrades.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant based in the North of the UK to deliver EIAs for major national infrastructure projects. You will work with a diverse range of clients including renewable energy developers, public sector authorities, and large organisations. Collaborating within a global multi-disciplinary team, you will support technical leads, assist with proposal preparation, and contribute to delivering industry-leading environmental and sustainability consultancy services.

Your responsibilities will include writing sections of environmental reports such as EIA screening letters, scoping reports, and non-technical summaries of Environmental Statements. You will support the review of technical inputs to ensure alignment with project details and EIA compliance, contribute to environmental design and environmental-led design principles, and assist with bids and presentations.

At Arup, you will be part of an extraordinary collective that encourages curiosity, individuality, and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to work on socially meaningful projects that impact clients, communities, and your career while contributing to Arup’s legacy of excellence and sustainability.

- Some environmental consultancy experience, including coordinating EIAs and working with multi-disciplinary teams.

- Strong analytical skills with a focus on solution-finding and assessment delivery.

About you
- Motivated and enthusiastic with a curious mindset.
- Able to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Committed to delivering technical excellence and embedding environment and sustainability into projects.

Qualifications
- Education to degree level, preferably a master’s degree.
- Membership or working towards full membership of an appropriate professional institute such as the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or equivalent.
