About the Role
Join Arup’s multidisciplinary Climate and Sustainability Services (CSS) team as a Historic Environment Consultant. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects across the UK, helping to shape the future of historic environment consultancy. You will prepare Historic Environment Desk Based Assessments, conduct site and archive visits, and contribute to Environmental Statement chapters. Working collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines, you will support clients in achieving their objectives through high-quality consultancy advice. The role includes designing and managing archaeological fieldwork projects, including those requiring Archaeological Clerk of Work experience, under senior supervision. You will manage fieldwork from planning and consent applications through to delivery of bespoke archaeological strategies for large infrastructure projects. As a core member of the London-based team, you will also liaise closely with colleagues in the Midlands and report to a designated line manager.

Experience
- Strong foundation in UK archaeology and heritage consultancy within the UK planning system
- Experience preparing Historic Environment Desk Based Assessments, Heritage Statements, Written Schemes of Investigation, and Environmental Impact Assessment chapters including setting assessments
- Experience in archaeological fieldwork project management and design
- Confident user of GIS software, preferably ArcGIS Pro, and dataset manipulation

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in Archaeology or a related subject
- Membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (PCIfA minimum, ACIfA preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
