As the HSE & Construction Site Safety Advisor, you will ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards across data centre operations and construction projects. You will be part of the EUK central DC sector team, responsible for assuring all DC FM contracts by working closely with mobilisation and transition teams, the central technical assurance team, and operational FM teams to uphold EUK's high standards.
This new role requires identifying overlaps and defining effective ways of working with various teams, continuously optimising internal processes and driving performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical knowledge to managers to ensure compliance with Health and Safety across design, build, manage, and maintain phases in construction projects valued between £100k and £25 million.
- Monitor, report, and support project managers to ensure compliance with client and designer duties under CDM2015 regulations.
- Maintain awareness of building regulations and competencies of Principal Designer/Principal Contractor.
- Support risk assessments and method statements as required.
- Implement current legislation, EMCOR UK, and client processes and procedures.
- Assist site teams in developing construction phase plans prior to commencement.
- Conduct regular health and safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits, liaising with site management to ensure actions are completed.
- Ensure construction sites and welfare provisions comply with all regulations and standards.
- Promote and support a culture embracing EHS and wellbeing principles, including active promotion of account culture group and balanced scorecard.
- Support investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, sharing lessons learned.
- Support continued accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Assist in developing and rolling out strategies, policies, and guidelines that promote mental and physical wellbeing.
- Represent EMCOR UK at stakeholder forums as required.
- Produce regular reports on Health, Safety, Quality, Environment, and Wellbeing performance for internal and external audiences.
- Support subcontractor compliance with site HSQE requirements.
- Manage delivery of contract deliverables.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with client HSEQ&W representatives.
- Support aspects and impacts register and action management.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical and specialist guidance from planning through completion.
- Take appropriate action where standards are not met.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and understanding of SharePoint.
- Experience working with HSQE systems and processes aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deliver key objectives.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum requirement).
