About the Role
As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for the Ashton and Bolton sites, you will provide expert guidance and leadership to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies. You will cultivate a proactive safety culture across the organisation, safeguarding the health and safety of employees and ensuring achievement of HSE targets aligned with internal and external customer expectations. Reporting to the site lead and managing one direct HSE Advisor, you will promote a positive health and safety culture and provide expert advice and support across both sites. Your responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive measures. You will deploy the global HSE strategy and coordinate site teams to meet Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment objectives. Additionally, you will drive safety and environmental risk assessments, develop controls to reduce environmental impact focusing on waste management, CO2 emissions, and optimisation of water and energy consumption. You will lead internal and external quality audits ensuring adherence to ISO 14001 standards and own internal group reporting procedures, liaising with site leads and HSE partners. As an active member of the site leadership team, you will influence all employees by driving safety and environmental leadership.

Requirements

Experience
- 10+ years proven experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within a multi-site operation
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, preferably in manufacturing
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
- Proficiency in risk assessment and incident investigation
- Experience with ISO standards: ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Membership of a recognized professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA)
