About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. This role is part of a large-scale programme where Mace acts as the Delivery Partner within the Central Government team, based in Surrey.

You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) policies, procedures, guidance notes and standards. You will liaise with all stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to HSW management, particularly with client counterparts, balancing ongoing client operations and construction works.

Your duties include carrying out inspections on behalf of the Delivery Partner, holding contractors accountable, driving good practice, assisting with resolution of non-conformities from third party audits, and participating in the development of new standards and procedures to maintain compliance.

You will analyse audit results, corrective actions and KPIs to identify gaps for continuous improvement and provide timely, accurate reporting to delivery partnering leadership, the intelligent client function and the Senior Responsible Officer.

Ensuring incident investigations are completed on time and lessons shared is key. You will manage and lead a team of managers and professionals, ensuring the right principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and excellence.

Providing performance management, technical development and coaching to both Mace and client teams, you will collaborate with senior leaders to deliver cost-effective and efficient performance.

You will manage the HSW portion of procurement for the supply chain including ITT, PQQ and tender assessments, drive a culture of proactive and positive HSW management across the Delivery Partner and wider programme team, and oversee HSW emergency preparedness in liaison with the estate H&S team.

Ensuring the programme complies with legal duties, securing the HSW of the Mace team, and working collaboratively towards net zero carbon transition by proactively managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery are also essential responsibilities.
