About the Role
The Electrical Design Engineer will be an integral part of the ICP design team, focusing on Low Voltage (LV) projects. Key responsibilities include designing line and underground cable circuits, substation layouts, and protection and control schemes. You will generate detailed specifications for plant and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), and auxiliary supplies. The role involves conducting load flow studies, short-circuit calculations, cable sizing, earthing design in accordance with BS 7430, and protection studies. Additionally, you will generate detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD software, and employ software tools for earthing studies and low voltage modelling such as Windebut or VisNet. You will also assist project managers with tenders, cost estimates, site assessments, and design revisions during construction phases.
