About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Royal Trinity Hospice, you will take ownership of assigned tasks, completing them safely, professionally, and in a timely manner. You will support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, repair trends, and opportunities to enhance maintenance processes. Your role will help reduce reactive call-outs through effective completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and early defect identification. You will contribute to energy efficiency by reporting waste, leaks, unnecessary lighting, heating issues, and system inefficiencies, improving building performance across hospice and shop locations. Working flexibly across departments and sites, you will support a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence, and pride in the hospice environment. Learning from feedback, incidents, and near misses, you will help improve safe working practices and maintain a person-centred, compassionate environment.
Experience
Ability to prioritise workload effectively, balancing planned maintenance, reactive tasks, and urgent operational needs. Experience diagnosing basic building and equipment faults and escalating complex technical issues appropriately. Practical and safe working approach in patient, staff, and retail environments. Understanding of statutory compliance, Health & Safety, and accurate record keeping.
