About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Join a world-class team delivering the Hinkley Point C project, a nationally significant programme securing the UK's low-carbon energy future by providing reliable, affordable electricity for generations to come. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute to a project of unprecedented scale and complexity while developing your career in an environment where your expertise, leadership, and ambition can make a lasting impact.
As a NNB Surveillance Field Engineer, you will carry out surveillance on construction activities performed by contractors at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant construction site. Your focus will be on the construction, installation, and assembly of mechanical equipment such as static and rotating equipment, pipes, pipe supports, and welding processes. You will ensure activities are performed in accordance with the contractor’s work information and form part of a team delivering team lead duties to meet HPC quality needs, targets, and expectations.
Your responsibilities will include checking works for compliance, notifying deviations and non-conformance requests, submitting details to assist in issuing non-conformance reports, maintaining communication with stakeholders, supporting quality assurance processes, identifying potential quality issues early, and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met. You will also develop and maintain an understanding of contractual technical requirements, construction drawings, quality control plans, and inspection records, ensuring all quality inspection records are agreed before works are covered up and reviewing contractor performance against authorised quality control plans.
Our values emphasize safety first, client focus, integrity, and creating opportunities for people to excel. Mace is an inclusive employer welcoming candidates from diverse backgrounds and is open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options where suitable.
