About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. As Operations Director - Project Management, you will direct strategic management planning across programmes, oversee implementation, and build strong stakeholder relationships. You will be responsible for managing resources, compliance, and commercial performance to drive operational improvement and support sustainable business growth through client development and market positioning. Accountable for major appointments typically from £6m in Mace fee, your role includes directing safe, compliant, and inclusive project environments while championing wellbeing and HSE excellence. You will drive strategic client delivery, governance, and long-term relationship growth, ensuring ethical and financially responsible operations aligned with organisational priorities. Additionally, you will develop, mentor, and empower teams, promoting innovation, best practice, and talent progression across the business. Managing major project delivery with a focus on strategic alignment, effective governance, and exceptional safety, quality, and sustainability standards will be key. You will build strong client relationships, manage interfaces, communications, and cross-account opportunities, optimise resources and performance, and drive innovation through C2P, digital, and net-zero initiatives. Your influence will shape high-performing teams, business strategy, and ensure ethical, compliant, and commercially sound operations.

Experience
Extensive project and programme delivery experience in the relevant sector. Strong commercial, financial, and senior-stakeholder management capability. Deep project management expertise, including understanding of carbon and sustainability impacts.
