About the Role
The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is a farmer-led organisation dedicated to restoring the balance between farming and nature. We support farmers by sharing knowledge, resources and case studies that help boost food production, protect wildlife, and build climate resilience. We influence policy to secure fair rewards for farmers who care for nature and connect like-minded farmers across the UK. Our network is open to all: farmers, the public and partner organisations.
We are seeking an Operations Officer to help NFFN run smoothly as a fully remote team. Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, you will coordinate everyday administration, recruitment and HR processes, routine IT and systems setup, and provide practical support for meetings and events. You will keep records and arrangements organised, assist colleagues with routine processes, follow up on outstanding actions, and improve operational workflows.
In this varied role, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating travel, meetings, bookings, purchases and general administration
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, staff records and training administration
- Coordinating routine staff accounts, access and equipment setup, escalating technical or security issues
- Keeping records, trackers and shared information accurate and up to date
- Proactively seeking missing information, following up actions and helping colleagues meet deadlines
- Improving and documenting clear, repeatable administrative processes
- Supporting Eventbrite setup, printed resource stock and straightforward communications administration using agreed content
- Liaising with colleagues and suppliers to ensure practical arrangements are completed
You will be organised, proactive and comfortable prioritising competing requests in a remote team environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while working flexibly from home. Reasonable adjustments are welcomed and supported.
Experience
Practical experience in administration, operations or coordination is essential. Experience in HR or the non-profit sector is welcome but not required.
About you
You are organised, proactive and able to prioritise competing requests effectively within a remote team. You communicate clearly, handle confidential information with care, and are confident using digital tools. You are motivated to support a mission-driven organisation and comfortable working independently.
Qualifications
Relevant experience is valued more than formal qualifications. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key to success in this role.
