About the Role
Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park is an Outstanding primary academy with a strong commitment to providing exceptional education, support, and enrichment to every child. We are seeking a Premises Officer to join our team and ensure a safe, clean, and attractive learning environment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, security, health, and safety of the academy site, working closely with staff and external contractors. This role involves a variety of tasks including site security, maintenance and repair work, grounds upkeep, and supporting the smooth running of the academy environment.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, identifying and mitigating hazards, servicing and cleaning academy vehicles, providing technical support to staff, maintaining premises and grounds, supervising contractors, monitoring cleanliness and supplies, securing the site, and assisting with furniture moves for events and exams. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our diverse, multi-cultural school community.

Experience
- Experience working in an inner city school or educational establishment with children and young people is desirable
- Considerable DIY skills and experience
- Ability to work evenings and weekends regularly
- Ability to deal with emergencies outside normal working hours

Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements
- Basic training or sound experience in one or more of the following: plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems
- Knowledge of heating, ventilating systems and common malfunctions
- Understanding of maintenance and security systems and procedures
- Knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods and standards
- Ability to monitor and report structural faults and repairs
- Ability to monitor and order stocks of materials
