The Energy business unit provides integrated engineering and project management services globally across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. We support the energy transition by combining international expertise with local insight, currently expanding our permanent presence in Germany.

This role is central to ongoing and future projects in Germany, providing consultancy services in early-stage energy infrastructure development including permitting, environmental assessment, and design. Key responsibilities include day-to-day project management and delivery focused on emission control approval procedures, technical advice on air pollution control and noise protection, identification and processing of permits (building, emissions, environmental, water rights), preparation for and participation in application conferences, client liaison, and coordination between planners, consultants, authorities, and the public.

Requirements

Experience
- Degree in environmental engineering or a related field
- Extensive professional experience in environmental management of energy projects in Germany
- In-depth knowledge of permitting and environmental assessment including the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and relevant EU Directives
- Proven project management experience
- Experience managing sub-contractors
- Strong communication skills and customer focus
- Business fluent German and good English skills
- Willingness to travel

Qualifications
- Desirable: Experience or qualification in process engineering
- Specialist knowledge in air or noise pollution control
- Experience managing junior team members
- Knowledge of environmental and permitting requirements in other countries
- Experience in developing and implementing work winning strategies
- Fluency in French or Spanish is an advantage
